Yoghurt Bread

Ingredients:

500g self-raising flour.

1 rounded teaspoon salt.

400g plain natural yoghurt

Method:

Pre-heat oven to 200C, Gas 6.

Line a baking sheet with parchment and lightly oil or butter.

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.

Form into a ball.

Place ball on sheet and cut a cross in the top.

Bake for 25 minutes then turn over and cook for another 5 minutes.

My Tips:

This is similar to soda bread: a very crusty loaf.   If it isn’t all eaten on the day of baking, slice for toast the next day.

Different flavourings and textures are worth trying: herbs, dried tomatoes, garlic, sunflower and other seeds.
