We’ve been getting in the mood: trees are up and decorated, every present wrapped, (most) cards sent and the pudding and cake made.
Last weekend was a joyous lunch for nearly 30 friends (though some had to bale out with last minute ill-health). There was a carefully planned menu: Thai fish or Indian curries with different rices; Mediterranean vegetables; individual chocolate truffle tortes; apple, date and Brazil nut cakes. But, of course, nearly everyone had something of everything!
Some brought these fabulous lilies that have made such splendid arrangements.
Now just need to stuff both the turkey and stockings and we are ready for the big day and a few guests.
And, in the margins, did an interview for the local BBC radio and recorded some more recipes for the national Talking News Federation alongside new beekeeping Association activities – life is just too short.
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, the sous-chef and I wish you a very happy Christmas and will be back in touch in the New Year – keep those resolutions rolling.
